Anthony Lavely

Anthony Magee (“Tony”) Lavely is a member of the Yale Class of 1964. Over the years, he has served Yale in a variety of volunteer capacities: Yale Club of Chicago, President; Association of Yale Alumni, Board of Governors; Yale Class of 1964, Class Secretary; Alumni Schools Committee, Member; Yale Football Y Association, Member. Tony wrote an article for the Yale Alumni Magazine in October 2000, “On the Digital Road to Canterbury.” As an undergraduate, Tony was an English major, member of varsity football, resident of Branford College, and a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. 

For most of his business career, Tony has worked in the chain restaurant business, serving as Chief Marketing Officer for chains like Burger King, Domino’s Pizza, Friendly’s Ice Cream, and Ruth’s Chris Steak House. He is still active as a consultant to the restaurant industry and private equity firms.

Tony has been active in non-profit organizations in regional theater, early childhood development, and local symphony orchestra.

Tony and his wife, Wanda, live in Atlanta, Georgia. They have three children and two granddaughters who live in the New York City area. He very much enjoys his occasional visits to Branford Fellows meetings and has met a number of Branford College Masters over the years.
