Michael “Mickey” Dobbs

Director of Major Cities, Association of Yale Alumni

Mickey Dobbs, ‘92, is Director for Major Cities for the Association of Yale Alumni, working with Yale’s alumni groups in the San Francisco/Silicon Valley and Los Angeles areas. He is also the VP of Finance, Operations, and Compliance for JES Global Capital, a private equity fund (www.jesglocap.com). Prior to Yale, Mickey worked for various financial service start up companies in New York City and held FINRA Series 7, 24, & 27 licenses.

Before his wall street career, Mickey worked in the Jewish community, founding HIV/AIDS services for FEGS- Jewish Community Services of Long Island, heading up Hillel of Greater Philadelphia’s Graduate Student Center, and teaching at various Hebrew schools in CT, NYC, and Philadelphia.

Mickey is Co-President of Yale GALA: Yale’s LGBT Alumni Association (www.yalegala.org) and Treasurer of Moving Theater (www.movingtheater.org), a performing arts organization based in NYC.

His passion is in the arts and he has produced various concerts and ballets in the USA, Montreal, Italy and Pakistan.

He received his B.A. in Judaic Studies from Yale University, MA in Judaic Studies from the Jewish Theological Seminary, and MSW from Columbia University School of Social Work.
