Sarah Hreha

A. Sarah Hreha studied Spanish American Literature at the University of Minnesota and taught Spanish at the University of the Virgin Islands before shifting gears and trading for a hedge fund in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. As the hedge fund wound down operations, Sarah moved from trading to philanthropy at what was then called the Peter Gruber Foundation. Now executive director of The Gruber Foundation, established in 2011 at Yale, she recently relocated to New Haven and enjoys exploring the city and the Yale campus- primarily on a bicycle.

In addition to being the Executive Director of The Gruber Foundation, Sarah is the executive vice president of The Peter and Patricia Gruber Foundation. She sits on the Board of the Foundational Questions Institute (FQXi) and volunteers for various organizations in New York City and New Haven.
