Thomas Styron

Associate Professor of Psychology (in Psychiatry)

I teach at the medical school and help run the Connecticut Mental Health Center (CMHC), a psychiatric hospital and partnership between the State of CT and Department of Psychiatry. CMHC provides a broad array of clinical and community-based supports to poor and/or uninsured individuals with serious mental illnesses from the Greater New Haven area. I also have a private practice where I work primarily with Yale faculty, staff and students. I have enjoyed serving as a Freshman Faculty Advisor to Branford students over the last 12 years.

I attended Columbia University (BA, English; MA, Political Science) and University of Massachusetts- Amherst (PhD, Clinical Psychology). I am married to Phoebe Styron and have three young children, Lulu, Tommy and August.
