Julia Hontaruk-Levko

Julia Hontaruk-Levko is a sophomore from Cleveland, Ohio. She is a prospective Political
Science major but enjoys learning about a wide range of subjects. On campus, Julia is
involved with Matriculate as an Advising Fellow and the Lowenstein Project. Also, Julia
continues to nourish her Ukrainian roots by singing with the Yale Slavic Chorus. Getting
involved with New Haven is important to her, so Julia interns for Alder Darryl Brackeen Jr. of the New Haven Board of Alders, focusing on immigration and education policy.
In her spare time, Julia plays the piano, cooks (but prefers not to bake), knits, and reads many books (primarily memoirs and biographies of famous women in government). You will probably find her in the Branford Dining Hall, Library, or Student Kitchen. She would love to talk about Bon Appetit’s Test Kitchen or literally anything whenever you see her around!
