BCC Executive Board

Hey y’all! My name is Mary Chen, and I’m a limbo-state senior (took a semester off and now my class year is all wonky, but if you would like to know the math, I’m a ’22.5). I’m from Columbus, Georgia (the REAL home of Coca Cola). I’m obsessed with Branford Tea Rooms, where we sip and spill tea with delicious snacks prepared by Tara. My guilty pleasure is picking up random hobbies that only last for a week. This includes learning how to play the ukulele, developing my own hot sauce recipe, and making candles in Yerba Mate cans.

Hey everyone! My name is Helen Mooney, and I’m a member of the Class of 2022 from the tiny town of Cambridge, New York. My favorite BCC activity has to be Crushes and Chaperones, our annual middle school-themed dance with music exclusively from years that current students were in seventh grade. My Branford-specific guilty pleasure is spending ridiculous amounts of time at breakfast in the dining hall—enough for a few waves of Branfordians to join me. I hope to see you all on Monday nights :)

Hi everyone! My name is Kai and I am a senior in Branford from New York City. My FAVORITE BCC event is “I Day” (best! day! ever!) but I am also partial to the fall apple picking trip :) My guilty pleasure is taking cereal to-go from the Branford dining hall after every meal (hot take: Smart Start is the best).

Heya! My name is Hilary Griggs, and I’m a member of the Class of 2024 (formerly ‘23!) from the beautiful city of Lawrence, Kansas. As your BCC Secretary, I send hundreds of emails, take lots of notes, and round up the juiciest Branford gossip. When I’m not busy sending you emails, I’m probably playing IM basketball, snacking at Tea Room (my favorite BCC event!) or chasing squirrels with Bertie in the Branford courtyard. Most importantly, my guilty pleasure is consuming my body weight in hard boiled eggs from the Branford dining hall.

Hey y’all! My name is Courtney Li and I am a member of the Class of 2024 from New York City. It goes without saying that I am also a member of Branford, but I did have to mention it just because we are objectively the best college. I have yet to decide on a favorite BCC event because I want to experience all of the traditional events in-person first (and I look forward to getting the chance to do so this year)! Fun fact about me is that I am a chronic rewatch-er of TV shows and movies. Some of my favorites are Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, Criminal Minds, and my guilty pleasure: The Vampire Diaries.

Hi guys! My name is Hamera (‘24) and I’m from Patterson, California (formerly the Apricot Capital of the World). My favorite BCC event is definitely the weekly late night BCC where anyone is free to linger (avoid responsibilities) after our Monday night meetings, but I’m hoping to see the legacy of the BCC Easter Egg Hunt continue. As one of the Co-SACs, I hope that I’ll meet everyone this year in the fun events — old and new — that we’ll hold. My guilty pleasure is definitely the 20 pack Chobani boxes from Costco.

Hi everyone! I’m Madeline Dodson, I’m in the Class of 2024 and I’m from Ohio (midwest gang!!) So far, my favorite BCC event is just the weekly meetings. They are always a ton of fun and a good way to take a break from school while making Branford an even better place (even though it is already arguably the best place). I am excited for all of the in person events this upcoming year and as one of your Co-SACs I am excited to plan a ton of fun events for you all. My guilty pleasure is eating 6-8 pieces of toast in one sitting :)) I can’t wait to meet you guys!
